Diversity recruiting isn’t just about giving opportunities to those who have been disenfranchised for too long. It’s about transforming your organization and changing the culture. Recruiting teams have a frontline opportunity to transform the culture of a company.
Culture does not change because we desire to change it. Culture changes when the organization is transformed – the culture reflects the realities of people working together everyday.Frances Hesselbein, Former CEO of The Girl Scouts of America
But how do you get started?
We’ve spoken in the past about the importance of inclusivity in your searching and sourcing as well as how you can take the first step to talk about D&I within your organization. Now we’ve created a tool to help you assess where your team is when it comes to Diversity Recruiting.
The Diversity Recruiting Scorecard is made up of just 10 questions that decode how mature your company’s Diversity Recruiting program is.
After completing the quiz, you’ll be given one of four results:
You’re at the start of your Diversity Recruiting journey. You’ve clearly defined what diversity means within your organization and you understand what success looks like. You’ve laid the foundation, now it’s time to implement some drastic changes to reach the next stage.
You’ve taken proactive steps to start attracting diverse candidates. You’ve perhaps built up diversity teams at your company and/or developed training for the hiring managers and interview teams to avoid biases. The framework of your Diversity Recruiting program is complete!
Having implemented the solutions you need, you’ve started to take that data and what you’ve learned and apply it to your program. You’re sharing your results with your leaders and everyone on the team is on board with supporting the success of the program. Maybe you even have your Diversity team working with candidates as they go through the interview process! You’re doing great, keep it up!
You’re promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion both inside your company and out. You work together across departments to ensure that everyone is aware of the best practices for their teams and you publish everything you’ve learned so that other companies can learn from your successes. You’re an inspiration, but you know the work doesn’t stop here. You keep working and constantly updating your programs to be supportive for every candidate in your pipeline.
Assessing where you’re at in your Diversity Recruiting journey is the first step and this quiz is a quick and simple way to make that assessment.
