I am excited to announce our involvement in the GraphLab 2013 Workshop on Large Scale Machine Learning on July 1st in San Francisco. Our friends at Graphlab have brought together some of the best minds in the field of applied data science including speakers from Google, Twitter, Facebook, MS Research and many other great institutions. The HiringSolved crew will produce the event and we will also be offering private demos of our product during the break out sessions.
How did this happen you ask?
Our early vision for HiringSolved was that finding people to hire was essentially a Big Data problem. We set out to create a search engine that would look for people and find all of the information relevant to hiring them. We would combine social data, resumes and contact info from everywhere on the web and make it fast and easy to search. Like Google for talent.
When we founded the company in 2012 we knew we would be leveraging Machine Learning algorithms to make sense of the huge amount of data being collected by our crawlers. Luckily Trevor’s background gave him a natural knack for this sort of thing. Also, I had been producing technical events for years and had met some great people including Danny Bickson from CMU / Graphlab, who happened to be quite well connected in the Data Science space. It was serendipitous that we would go on to co-produce the first Graphlab Workshop on Large Scale Machine Learning as HiringSolved being developed.
